  • Clark County Nevada

Got word today Clark County Nevada (where Vegas is) is working up legislation to stop all breeding of all animals, this includes fish. I have not been able to get the number assigned to the future ordinance as of yet. If this passes, it will be a crime to breed and sell any animal, I'm not sure yet where coral will fall in at?

I talked to Jason at Clark County today, the ordnance change is a ban on all breeding. This change is to curb the backyard breeding issues in the county, plus it will protect the brick and mortar stores legally doing business in the county, there is no intent to go after coral, fish and live food traded or sold in the aquarium hobby by hobbyists. Hobbyists however have to follow the law, if hobbyists are going to trade or sell coral, fish or live food in Clark County they will need a business license in Clark County. Whether they choose to have a license or not, hobbyists can not sell out of their home or change their neighborhood in anyway.
