Welcome to MASNA

MASNA is a non-profit organization composed of marine aquarium clubs and individual hobbyists from North America and abroad, totaling several thousand individuals. MASNA's goals are to: Educate our members with online and published material, the MACNA conference, and other sanctioned events; Assist in forming and promoting the growth of clubs within the hobby while ensuring a sustainable future for the marine environment; Encourage the ethical growth of the marine aquarium hobby and support captive breeding/propagation efforts, and; Support efforts to eliminate abuses in collecting and transporting marine organisms.

Bush to Protect Three Areas in Pacific

President Bush will create three new marine national monuments in the Pacific Ocean today, according to his top aides, a move that will help preserve sprawling sea and island ecosystems and cement the one aspect of his legacy that has won praise, sometimes grudgingly, from many environmentalists

MACNA XXII Bids

Update: We are now accepting bids to host MACNA XXII. The only requirement is that you must be a member club to submit a bid. The deadline for submissions has changed and is now January 31, 2009.

Now Accepting Applications for MASNA Scholarship!

We are now accepting applications for the 1st annual MASNA Scholarship. $2500 available to one chosen recipient pursuing a college major in one of the marine sciences. Application deadline: August 4, 2009.

MASNA BOD Meeting

The next meeting will be held in the IRC Chat Room, #masna on irc.dal.net. Thursday, January 8th, 2009 at 8:00 PM CST. BOD Meetings are held the Second Thursday of each month. All members are welcome to attend.
