MASNA Staff & Contractors

Erica Robes – MASNA Event Manager:

It was only after graduating from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina with a dual bachelors degree in Political Science and Asian Studies that Erica discovered an affinity for event planning. Choosing to follow this newfound love and turn passion and knack into a career, she moved to Orlando and enrolled at the University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management to pursue a second bachelors in Event Management.

While at UCF, Erica jumped on an opportunity to work for Global Experience Specialists, a trade show management company overseeing prominent shows like the Global Pet Expo, Helicopter Expo, and biannual Surf Expo. Wearing multiple hats and juggling multiple projects, she was able to hone in her customer service and exhibitor relations skills while making vital connections and gaining the presence necessary for a powerful emergence into the industry. Taking on the Event Manager role within MASNA represents the culmination of such efforts and the pinnacle of a budding career.

In her free time Erica enjoys spending afternoons at Disney, being a mom to her puppy, Pepper, and never turns down the opportunity to make a mess with acrylic paints.

Joanne Vega – MASNA Memership & PR Contractor:

Joanne’s extensive background in marketing, public relations, customer service and campaign development along with her over a decade of involvement in the marine aquarium hobby make her an ideal fit to support MASNA’s membership and provide PR support for MACNA and MASNA.

Over-educated in her own accord, Joanne holds an MBA in Marketing and currently is a managing partner at a full-service market research company as well as supporting MASNA (Strategic Research Associates, of Spokane) providing quantitative and qualitative market consulting for for-profit and non-profit companies alike throughout the Northwest.

A collector of hobbies and pets, Joanne current lives in Seattle with her partner, two reef aquariums, two cats, a dog, and even a horse (who lives elsewhere, the rent in Seattle is too high for horses!). She enjoys spending time outdoors, volunteering at the nearby zoo, reefkeeping, working with the public, and enjoying live music.
