 2) Officers' Reports

President/Web (Nancy Swart)

 President/Web Report

The Annual Award winner has been determined. This is kept confidential until the Award is presented at the Saturday night banquet at MACNA. I'll go ahead and order the trophy, which usually runs around $300 if all agree. Will have it shipped directly to Brad Ward so it's sure to be there. Nancy to order Trophy.

No bids were received for MACNA XV. Hopefully somebody will come forward in Texas at our Annual Meeting.

Routine updates on the website. Nothing else of significance to report this month.

Vice Pres./Scholarship & Fundraising (Tom Walsh)

Tom did follow up with the IMAX production offering our support but haven't heard anything back as of yet.

 Secretary (Jenn Myerscough)

Minutes are up to date.

 Treasurer (Carl Huntley)

Current balance was reported. Recent deductions include the web hosting.

 USCRTF/MAC Rep (John Brandt)

There is a new 2nd quarter MAC newsletter. We had our annual BOD meeting last week. We voted on term limits for BOD members. There is still widespread skepticism within the industry with respect to MAC's 1% mortality limit. I've been giving Nancy a good number of news links for the “In The News” page.

The US Coral Reef Task Force will be having a meeting in October 2002, I'll try to make myself available to go.

 Public Relations/Membership (Cathy Garey)

Only one new membership received 6/28, but according to Carl he hasn't received anything from Carol Wilcox from Texas - no club affiliation mentioned.

Editor/Speaker Liaison/Industry Liaison (Mary Middlebrook)

Mary is absent. No report available.

Chuck Scannell (Chairman of Internet Promotion Committee)

Chuck has been working hard with DFWMAS on mass emails to promo MACNA XIV.
