Aquarius Aquarium Institute, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 2000 in Fresno, California for the purpose of fostering respect, understanding and conservation of the world's aquatic ecosystems through educational programs, interpretive exhibits and aquarium propagation, spawning and rearing of aquatic species. As a part of its future public aquarium plans, the Institute will be dedicating significant facility space and resources to a Larval Lab which will focus on the aquarium spawning of many of the species currently housed in aquaria but collected from the wild.
Aquarius Aquarium Institute is funded by private philanthropy, grants, memberships and contributions from individuals, charitable foundations. government sources and corporate sponsorships.

The Breeder's Registry, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 1993 for the purpose of being the world's repository for information regarding aquarium spawning and rearing of "ornamental" fish and invertebrates. The idea is for professionals and home aquarists alike to have a place to research Spawning Reports provided by others so that aquarium propagation would become more commonplace.
Although we always welcome new Spawning Reports for species already in our database, the Breeder's Registry is actively soliciting reports and articles from aquarists throughout the world who are blazing new trails and overcoming the many obstacles that keep the entire marine life industry dependent upon an unsustainable business model.
We are funded by individual memberships, grants, donations from large and home-based breeders. as well as corporate sponsorships from suppliers and public aquariums.
